The Wild Bird Society of Japan (WBSJ) initially created rain boots in the early 2000s for birdwatchers in northern Japan. In collaboration with a rice farm boot maker, they developed a lightweight, natural rubber, removable boot, which was launched in 2004 after three years of refinement. Their combination of function and fashion has broadened their appeal beyond birdwatching, offering convenience and durability for various outdoor adventures.
